Boys Basketball League

Oregon Trail Recreation District's boys basketball league for 1st through 8th graders (2026-2027 school year), with all games at the OTRD Rec Center in Burley. 1st-3rd graders play on Monday nights and 4th-8th graders on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights; days can change with the number of teams. OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child. Space is limited and teams fill quickly.

Burley Youth Tackle Football

Oregon Trail Recreation District's youth tackle football for Burley, Declo, Oakley and Raft River teams, playing in the South Central Idaho Football League against teams from the Mini-Cassia and Magic Valley areas. Teams are organized by grade, and a grade with enough players splits into two teams. Each town's team needs a head coach and a sponsor. New players need a sports physical, which is good for two years.

Girls Basketball League

Oregon Trail Recreation District's girls basketball league for 1st through 8th graders (2026-2027 school year), played on weeknights at the OTRD Rec Center in Burley. 1st-3rd graders play half-court games on Wednesday nights, and 4th-8th graders play full-court games once or twice a week. There are no community teams: all players go into a random draft, and placement requests are not accepted except for a coach's own child.

Homeschool Physical Education - OTRD

A physical education class for homeschool students in kindergarten through 12th grade, set up by Oregon Trail Recreation District so local homeschool families can learn and interact with others through movement. Classes are led by district instructors, with a maximum of 50 participants and a minimum of 10 needed for a session to run. Parents or guardians check children in each day and pick them up when class ends.

Kinder Basketball Clinics

Basketball skills clinics for boys and girls up to kindergarten (2026-2027 school year), run by Oregon Trail Recreation District in Burley. Kids learn the basics of dribbling, shooting, passing and defense through drills rather than games. In the last two weeks they play scrimmage games to learn how a basketball game works.

Mini Cheerleading

Oregon Trail Recreation District's fall mini cheerleading program. Cheerleaders are placed in squads, each with a head coach and an assistant coach, and cheer at OTRD Burley Youth Football games on Saturday mornings and afternoons. Games are in Burley, the Mini-Cassia area and a few in the Magic Valley. The district asks for volunteers to coach the squads.

Press Forward Basketball Camp - Oregon Trail Rec District

Spring Football (Grades 5-8)

Spring tackle football run with the Burley High School football program, for kids who attend a Burley school or live in Burley. Players are grouped as combined 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade teams (by grade in the current school year) and work with youth coaches and the Burley High School football coaches. OTRD supplies each player a helmet, shoulder pads, pants and a mouthpiece. Players need a sports physical if they have not had one in the past two years.

T-Ball & Coach Pitch Baseball

The youngest divisions of Oregon Trail Recreation District's spring baseball and softball program in Burley. Co-ed T-Ball is for 4 and 5 year olds (age as of May 1), with girls and boys on the same team. Coach Pitch is the next step for 6 and 7 year olds, with separate baseball and softball divisions playing on weeknights. OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child.

Youth Baseball

Oregon Trail Recreation District's spring baseball league in Burley. Divisions go by age: coach pitch for 6 and 7 year olds, pitching machine for 7 and 8, and live pitch for 9-10 and 11-12, plus a Pony League division for older boys that plays on a high school size field. Baseball games are on Monday and Wednesday weeknights, while a separate softball league plays Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are no community teams, and OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child. Players may play up an age group but not down.

Youth Flag Football

Oregon Trail Recreation District's fall flag football league for boys and girls, with weeknight games played behind the OTRD Rec Center in Burley. Teams have a maximum of 12 players. Community teams can form when a town has a coach and enough players; otherwise OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child.

Youth Futsal League

Oregon Trail Recreation District's winter futsal program. Kindergarten through 2nd graders attend Saturday-afternoon skills and drills clinics with no games, choosing a Beginner or an Intermediate class. 3rd through 8th graders play league games on Saturdays, with older divisions in the morning and younger ones in the afternoon. OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child.

Youth Volleyball

Oregon Trail Recreation District's winter recreational volleyball for boys and girls. Kindergarten through 2nd graders attend skills clinics that work on basic volleyball skills, with no games. 3rd through 8th graders are placed on league teams of up to 8 players and play games on Monday and Thursday evenings. OTRD does not take team or player placement requests except for a coach's own child, and may refuse service for poor sportsmanship.
