Ballet - Wyldfire
Offered by Wyldfire Dance Studio โWyldfire teaches ballet inside its combined ballet and jazz classes rather than as a stand-alone class. Mini Moverz, for ages 3 through 1st grade (dancers must be potty trained), is a 40-minute class that uses creative movement, imaginative games and props to build balance, coordination, rhythm and class etiquette. Dance Dynamix I and II give 35 minutes of each 55-minute class to ballet: barre and center work, alignment, balance, flexibility, leaps and turns. Each class learns a ballet routine for the year-end showcase. Registration is online through the studio's website.

Other classes at Wyldfire Dance Studio
Acrodance - Wyldfire
AcroDance teaches acrobatics as used in dance, with smooth transitions between tricks and choreography rather than traditional gymnastics. AcroDance I starts with handstands, headstands, cartwheels, somersaults, bridges and body control, and dancers progress at their own pace toward limbers, walkovers, handsprings and aerials. AcroDance II builds on those skills and links tricks into choreography. Skill level can decide placement for safety, and each class performs an acro routine at the year-end showcase.
Hip Hop - Wyldfire
Street Style is Wyldfire's hip-hop class: 40 minutes of foundational grooves, body isolations, musicality and freestyle, plus old-school styles such as breaking, popping and locking. Dancers work on coordination, performance quality and their own personal style, and learn one hip-hop routine for the year-end showcase. The studio keeps music, choreography and costumes modest, positive and age-appropriate.
Hot Shots Competitive Dance Teams
Hot Shots Dance Company is Wyldfire's competition program, with dancers placed by ability, age, maturity, work ethic and commitment. Flames is the advanced beginning/intermediate team for grades 3 and up with at least two years of dance. Xtreme is the intermediate/advanced team for grades 6 and up with at least three years of dance and director approval. Placement takes an evaluation at a summer jazz workshop, followed by a two-week choreography intensive. Team dancers also take required weekly technique classes and compete at 3 to 4 regional events, including America On Stage in Pocatello and at Lagoon, Shine Dance Competition in American Falls, and Canyon Rim Dance Classic in Jerome.
Jazz - Wyldfire
Jazz at Wyldfire is taught in the Dance Dynamix ballet and jazz classes, where the last 20 minutes of each 55-minute class covers jazz fundamentals, coordination, turns, leaps, stylized movement and stage presence. Dance Dynamix II puts more weight on clean execution, dancing in sync and performance quality. Dancers learn a jazz routine for the year-end showcase and move up a level based on readiness, not age alone.
