Mexican Folkloric Dance, Intermediate (Ages 10-16): SVMoA
Offered by Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) →A nine-week Mexican folkloric dance class from the Sun Valley Museum of Art for young dancers ages 10 to 16 who already have some dance experience. Students build zapateado footwork, skirt work, rhythm, posture and performance skills while learning dances rooted in Mexican folkloric traditions. Instruction is mainly in Spanish with English support, taught by Oaxaca-trained professional dancer Dirce Flores. Students perform at the community Día de los Muertos celebration on October 24.
