Runs its own weekly schedule of free children's and teen programming - storytimes, school-age clubs, craft sessions and drop-in game clubs - distinct from the schedules at the other Library! branches. Free weekly stories, songs and open play time for babies and their caregivers. This branch runs it twice on Mondays - a morning and an afternoon session.
Family Storytime (Ages 0-5)
Free weekly family storytime with books, songs and movement for children five and under with a caregiver.
Kids Crafts (Ages 6-11)
Free monthly Saturday craft session with a variety of fun crafts each time. All materials are provided.
Music and Movement (Ages 0-5)
Free weekly early-literacy music and movement session - songs, rhymes, instruments and moving to the beat.
Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-5)
Free weekly storytime for preschoolers, with longer stories, early-literacy games and pre-reading skills.
Saturday Stories and Play (Ages 0-5)
Free weekend storytime and open play session for young children and their caregivers - the Saturday option for families who cannot make a weekday storytime.
Tales and Trails (Ages 2-8)
Free outdoor story walk pairing picture books with a short, easy hike at a Boise-area reserve. Recent walks have been held at Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve. Dress for the weather; meet at the trailhead.
Teen Club (Ages 12-17)
A free after-school club for teens at Library! at Cole & Ustick, with a different activity each Thursday. Sessions this fall include learning to play Dungeons and Dragons, a video game afternoon, shrink-plastic keychain art, and a monthly Life Skills workshop on the skills teens need for work, home and relationships. All skill levels are welcome, and supplies are provided for the art sessions.
