Darby's Dancers (Special Needs Dance)
Darby's Dancers is an adaptive dance program for children and young adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Instruction is adapted to each dancer, and volunteers, including teens, are paired one-on-one with dancers for support. Families join through the program's membership form on the studio website.
Parent-Tot Movement (Ages 0-3)
A 45-minute music and movement class for children from birth to age 3, taken together with a parent or caregiver. Little ones build coordination, rhythm and early social skills through songs, movement and play, and the shared class is meant to strengthen the bond between child and caregiver. New students sign up through the studio's online enrollment portal, or the studio can recommend a class.
Preschool Dance (Ages 3-5)
Little Dancers classes for ages 3 to 5 introduce the basics of ballet, tap and hip hop. Classes use playful themes and props in an encouraging setting to build coordination, rhythm and confidence. New students sign up through the studio's online enrollment portal, and the studio offers a class recommendation for families unsure where to start.
Teen Dance (Ages 12-18): Ballet, Jazz & More
Teen classes for ages 12 to 18 include ballet (barre, center and across-the-floor work), jazz (turns, leaps, jumps and choreography), lyrical (expressive, story-driven movement that requires prior ballet and jazz), Acro I and II placed by skill, and a non-performance Cross Training and Wellness class for strength and flexibility. Pointe is open to advanced ballet dancers after an instructor evaluation. Tap, hip hop and musical theater are also offered, and most classes perform in the end-of-year recital.
Youth Dance (Ages 6-8): Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop & Acro
Weekly classes for ages 6 to 8 in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro and musical theater, mixing technique with creative play to build coordination, rhythm and strength. Dancers perform in a group recital at the end of the season. Students wear comfortable, fitted dancewear such as a leotard and tights, with ballet slippers for ballet and tap shoes for tap; the full dress code comes at enrollment.
Youth Dance (Ages 8-11)
Junior classes for ages 8 to 11, grouped by both age and skill level and kept small. Junior Ballet works on posture, balance and control at the barre, in the center and across the floor; Junior Jazz covers turns, leaps and footwork; Junior Acro covers balance, tumbling and body awareness and must be taken with Acro Conditioning. Tap, lyrical and hip hop are also offered at this age.
