Private Guitar & Ukulele Lessons
Offered by Sound and Stage Academy →One-on-one guitar or ukulele lessons, listed as two separate choices on the enrollment form. Guitar is taught by North Gill, the academy's music director, along with Alex Nielbeck and Sharon Tokatlian. Ukulele has five instructors on staff, including CEO Athena Hoxsey and Kristin Jenkins, who also leads choir. Students can pair either instrument with vocal study. Musical Theater Mainstage Productions
Mainstage productions for 2027 cast older students in evening rehearsals. One production is for ages 14 and up: the full cast meets Mondays, and Wednesday and Saturday rehearsals are called by character. Conflicts can be worked around if they are stated before casting. A second production is for ages 11-18 and rehearses Tuesday evenings. Email the academy at info@soundandstageacademy.com for details on joining a cast.
Private Drum Lessons
One-on-one drum lessons. Alex Nielbeck, who also teaches guitar, is the instructor on staff listed for drums. Drums are not one of the choices on the academy's online lesson form, so ask about drum lessons by calling (986) 285-9796 or emailing info@soundandstageacademy.com.
Private Piano Lessons
One-on-one piano lessons for beginners and for students refining their playing. Three instructors on staff teach piano: Bailee Morrison, Jessica Harned and Morgan Morrison, and the academy matches each student with an instructor. Morgan Morrison also teaches vocals, so a student who wants to blend piano and singing can study both. Choose Piano on the Enroll Today form on the academy's Private Lessons page.
Private Violin & Strings Lessons
One-on-one violin lessons with Jessica Harned, the instructor on staff who teaches violin. She also teaches piano. Lessons suit beginners as well as students who already play, and follow each student's goals and pace. Violin is the only bowed string instrument on the academy's lesson form. Private Voice & Vocal Lessons
One-on-one voice lessons for new and experienced singers. Vocals are taught by five instructors on staff, among them CEO Athena Hoxsey and music director North Gill. The enrollment form also offers Audition Prep as its own choice, which Athena Hoxsey teaches, for students getting ready to audition. Choose Voice or Audition Prep on the academy's Private Lessons enrollment form.
Theater & Improv Group Classes
Daytime theater classes for ages 5-18, split into three groups: ages 5-8, 8-11 and 12-18. Students spend the week on theatre, art, music, media and storytelling in an ensemble setting. The spring 2027 semester's stories are built around courage, kindness and water, from Arendelle's icy peaks and the Seven Seas to Neverland and a mermaid's story.
