Pre-competitive developmental swim team. Must be able to swim 25 yards continuous front crawl and back crawl. Kids learn 4 competitive strokes. Time trials every 4th, 8th, and 12th day. Non-competitive, focused on improving time and technique.

Swordfish Swim Team (Ages 6-12)
The Swordfish Swim Team is the Wood River Community YMCA's youth swim team. Swimmers learn and refine all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), and practices combine drills, endurance work and group challenges aimed at strength, teamwork and technique. Swimmers must be able to swim two lengths of the pool unassisted. Register by calling the Welcome Center at 208-727-9622.
When: Fall league: Oct 14 to Dec 4, 2026, Wednesdays and Fridays, 5:15-6:15 PM. Winter league: Jan 13 to Mar 5, two days a week (days to be announced), 5:15-6:15 PM.
