20+ mile paved, multi-use, year-round rail-to-trail providing non-motorized connection between Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley along the Big Wood River. Built by Blaine County Recreation District (BCRD) 1984-1991 on the abandoned Sun Valley line of the Union Pacific railroad. Stroller- and kid-bike-friendly (paved, mostly flat). Winter: BCRD grooms the trail for nordic skiing and offers FREE winter access — a fat bike is required. Several river fishing access points along the way. Free year-round.
