Baby Lapsit
Baby Lapsit is Twin Falls Public Library's storytime for babies from birth through 18 months and their caregivers. It lasts about 15 minutes, with the baby on the caregiver's lap throughout while the group sings, moves and reads together. It is the youngest of the library's three weekly storytimes; children move on to Toddler Time at 18 months.
Book Mobile Stop - Harrison Elementary
Harrison Elementary School is one of the regular after-school stops of the Twin Falls Public Library Bookmobile, which brings the library to underserved parts of Twin Falls. The Bookmobile carries books, DVDs and other materials to borrow. Borrowers need a valid Twin Falls Public Library card, which can be applied for on the Bookmobile, and must show it each time they check out.
Bookmobile Neighborhood Park Stops
Twin Falls Public Library's bookmobile parks at five neighborhood parks every week so families can browse and borrow books, DVDs and audiobooks close to home: Cascade Park and Rotary Park on Tuesdays, First Federal Bank Park and Northern Ridge Park on Thursdays, and Jason Kelley Park on Fridays. A Twin Falls Public Library card is needed to borrow.
Dungeons and Dragons (Ages 13+)
Long-form Dungeons & Dragons campaign for teens and adults (ages 13 and up) at Twin Falls Public Library. The group plays D&D 5th edition in the Library Program Room, and all skill levels are welcome. Doors open at 5:00 PM and play runs from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Contact the library's adult services staff to ask about joining.
Kids Activities (K-3rd)
The library lists this program as Early Elementary STEM: Monday afternoon sessions at Twin Falls Public Library for kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade, with hands-on activities designed to get them excited about science, technology, engineering and math. The activity changes each week; September 2026 sessions included a Family STEM night and an Elementary STEM session with PBS Kids. It runs during the school year, September to May.
Read to a Therapy Dog
Kids practice reading aloud to a therapy dog from the Pets Helping People Therapy Team at Twin Falls Public Library. Readers sign up for a 10-minute slot when they arrive, and spots are first come, first served. The program runs once a month on a Saturday morning during the school year; fall 2026 dates were September 26 and October 17.
Ready, Set, Kindergarten
Ready, Set, Kindergarten is a spring class at Twin Falls Public Library for children who will start kindergarten that fall, attended with a caregiver. Each session is set up like a classroom: the group goes through the weather, the calendar, the letter of the day and number recognition, then learns a new kindergarten-readiness concept, and caregivers get simple, free ways to practice it at home. Weekly topics include number recognition, shapes, rhyming, patterns, colors, fine motor skills, sorting, measuring, sequencing and opposites.
Story Time - Youth Programs
Twin Falls Public Library runs three free weekly storytime programs, each for a different age group: Baby Lapsit for babies from birth to 18 months, Toddler Time for 18 months to 3 years, and Preschool Storytime for 4- and 5-year-olds. Sessions use songs, rhymes, movement and books suited to each age, and Toddler Time and Preschool Storytime end with playtime. Storytimes run during the school year, September to May.
Summer Reading Program - Twin Falls
Summer Reading is Twin Falls Public Library's summer program for kids, teens and adults, and the 2026 theme was Plant a Seed, Read. Kids and teens track their reading on a paper log or the ReaderZone app, and those who read at least 32 days earn a free book, a treat from a local business and a state park pass, plus a Grand Prize entry. 2026 events included a How-To Fair kickoff on June 5, weekly Naturebrary sessions in City Park for babies to pre-K, touch-a-truck days, teen crafts and an escape room, and a finale party at Orton Botanical Gardens on July 25.
Teen Book Club (Grades 7-12)
Monthly book club at Twin Falls Public Library for students in 7th through 12th grade. Members read the month's title, then meet to talk about it over snacks with a related activity. The September 2026 pick was The Unteachables by Gordon Korman, and October's is Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia.
Teen Programs (6th-12th Grade)
Twin Falls Public Library's teen program meets every other Thursday afternoon for students in 6th through 12th grade, with a different activity each time, such as cooking classes and art projects. Fall 2026 sessions included a back-to-school lunch box cooking class, a teen escape room, DIY stress balls and a poke bowl cooking class. Each activity is posted on the library calendar.
Toddler Time
Toddler Time is Twin Falls Public Library's storytime for children from 18 months to 3 years old and their caregivers. Because this age group gets the wiggles, sessions have plenty of movement and books short enough for toddlers' attention spans, followed by playtime. It runs twice a week during the school year, between Baby Lapsit and Preschool Storytime in the library's age sequence.
Tween Book Club (4th-6th Grade)
Tween Book Club is a monthly book club at Twin Falls Public Library for 4th to 6th graders. Members read the month's book, then meet to discuss it over snacks, with dress-up and related activities.
