It suits kids who have never done a cartwheel as well as those cleaning up cartwheels on both sides. Coaching focuses on hip placement, control and a cartwheel progression matched to each child's level. Wear form-fitting gymnastics or athletic clothing (shirts that cannot fall over the face) and pull hair back.

Tumbling Skills Camp: Backbends (Ages 6+)
A 30-minute backbend clinic in the Motions Dance Studio gym for beginning tumblers ages 6 and up, taught by Janese Botelho. Students learn to push up into a backbend (a bridge) from lying on the ground, then work on strengthening it, increasing back flexibility and moving toward a backbend from standing. Wear form-fitting gymnastics or athletic clothing (shirts that cannot fall over the face) with hair pulled back.

Students learn foundational acro skills, including handstands, cartwheels and bridges, along with introductory dance movements, with the focus on safe technique, coordination and body control. Dancers wear a leotard, biketard or other fitted athletic clothing and bare feet, with hair secured in a ponytail or bun.
