Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area
Local non-profit mountain recreation area 16.5 miles north of Boise (special-use permit from Boise National Forest). Year-round programming. Winter: alpine skiing + snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, lessons (group + private from age 3+). Summer: 20+ miles cross-country mountain biking trails + Basin Gravity Park, Glade Runner mountain coaster (4,330 ft), scenic chairlift, hiking, Mineshaft Challenge Course, bungee, rock climbing, gem panning. Music on the Mountain summer concerts. Environmental ed for 5,400+ students annually.
