Historic territorial prison (built 1870, one of only four open to the public in the US) on the foothills near the Idaho Botanical Garden. 30 historic buildings, special exhibits, weaponry collection (J. Curtis Earl Memorial). Self-guided tours included with admission; guided tours +$2. School field trips. Tours recommended for guests 13 and older due to mature content. Operated by Idaho State Historical Society.
