Musical Kids: Music Class (Ages 2-3)

Introductory music class for two- and three-year-olds built on exposure to classical, folk and world music. Children use hand-held instruments to find the beat and internalise rhythm, alongside movement activities, finger plays and lullabies.

Schedule

weekly

30-minute session once per week, September through May. Held at partner preschools and childcare centres rather than a studio: Boise sites include Barnyard Daycare (Broadway and Millbrook), Cozy Cottage, The Learning Tree, Parkcenter Montessori, Beginning Years, Trinity Learning Center, Cloverdale Montessori and Overland Montessori; the Garden City site is Early Learning Children's Center. Day and time vary by host site.

Musical Kids: Music Class (Ages 4-6)

Music class for four- to six-year-olds covering beat, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and pitch. Children read rhythm notation from flashcards, do ear-training and listening work, meet the instrument families and composers, and play percussion including maracas, tambourines, sand blocks, xylophones and drums.
