Art Sampler (Ages 5-11)

Three-week themed art course at the Harward Recreation Center where children try a range of mediums and techniques including drawing, watercolour, acrylic, pottery, ink and mixed media. All materials and supplies are included. Autumn themes run Jungle Safari, Desert Animals and Exploring the Forest.

American Red Cross Swim Lessons

Year-round Red Cross-certified swim lessons at the Harward Recreation Center's five indoor pools. Recreation pool kept at 88°F.

Card Making (Ages 12 & up)

Single-session card-making workshop open to all skill levels, from complete beginners upward. Participants learn techniques and tools for creating hand-made personalised cards; the autumn dates are Christmas card sessions.

Creative Makers Studio (Mixed Media)

Four-week mixed-media art and craft course covering drawing, crochet, knitting, mosaics, felting and seasonal crafts. Each session features different projects, so students may enrol in more than one for new material each time.

ENKIDS STEM Summer Camp

A week-long summer STEM day camp offered through Nampa Parks & Recreation, where science, technology, engineering, math, art and robotics come together in hands-on projects for elementary-aged kids. Runs during the summer at Nampa Rec facilities.

Harward Recreation Center Preschool (Ages 3-5)

Nine-month preschool programme following the Nampa School District calendar, designed to build self-esteem and help children see themselves as capable and successful. Separate 3-year-old, 4-year-old and Pre-Kindergarten tracks. Children must be fully potty trained.

Homeschool P.E.

Judo (Ages 10-18)

Monthly-enrolment judo class teaching momentum and off-balancing to throw, trip or sweep an opponent, then ground technique to control and immobilise. Safety, sportsmanship, self-discipline and cooperation are the emphasis. New students and a parent must watch a class before enrolling; a mandatory uniform costs extra.

Kids & Teens Culinary Classes (Ages 5-17)

Small-group cooking course teaching basic kitchen technique - using tools safely, cooking with the senses and keeping a clean station. Students taste what they make and are emailed the recipes afterwards. Recipes may include dairy, grain, nuts, eggs, meat and spices; all supplies and ingredients are included.

Kids in Action Summer Day Camp

Nampa Parks & Recreation's flagship summer day camp at the Harward Recreation Center. Full day of games, swimming, sports, and activities.

Munchin' Munchkins Toddler Cooking (Ages 2-4)

Toddler cooking class in the Tots & Tykes family of programmes. Children measure, pour, mix and cut alongside a parent or caregiver, creating simple foods to eat together.

Nampa Youth Basketball (Grades K-8)

Nampa Parks & Recreation's recreational youth basketball league, where children register individually and are placed on teams coached by parent volunteers. The fall session runs divisions for Kindergarten/1st (co-ed), 2nd-3rd girls, 4th-5th girls, 6th boys and 7th-8th boys; the winter session flips the gender split. Practices and games are held in Nampa School District and Nampa-based Vallivue School District gyms.

Nampa Youth Volleyball League

Photography & Design Workshops (Ages 14 & up)

Hands-on photography workshops for teens and adults using either a smartphone or a DSLR, covering lighting, composition, shutter speed, aperture and simple editing. A companion Canva 101 workshop covers basic graphic design with templates, photos, fonts and colour.

Pottery Hand-building (Ages 8 & up)

Two-part kiln-fired clay course covering hand-building basics - scoring, texturing, seaming and cleaning up a work area. Students build a piece in the first class and glaze it in the second; finished work is collected from the front desk once fired.

Safe Sitter Essentials (Ages 11-13)

One-day Safe Sitter course preparing young teens to be safe home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Students practise lifesaving skills including how to help someone who is choking, and learn what to do in severe weather. Instructor-led with hands-on skills practice; includes CPR training but not an official certification.

Sensory Swim (Adaptive Aquatics)

Private, low-stimulation pool session designed for swimmers who need a calmer environment - a reduced number of swimmers, dimmed lights, and no slide, loud noises or water toys. Lifeguards on duty are specifically trained in sensory integration and adaptive aquatics. Pre-registration is required.

Shooting Stars Youth Basketball League

Nampa Parks & Recreation's youth basketball league with weekly games and practices at Harward Recreation Center.

Short Sports (Ages 4-9)

Introductory multi-sport programme focused on throwing, kicking and running. Each week develops a different range of skills - coordination, balance, endurance and strength - split into two age bands.

Soccer Shots Fall Clinic (Ages 2-5)

Introductory soccer clinic for toddlers and preschoolers run in Nampa city parks, using age-appropriate games to build fine and gross motor skills alongside a strong emphasis on character development.

STEM + Art Start (Ages 3-6 with caregiver)

Hands-on class where young children and their caregivers explore science and art together. Each week pairs a simple experiment with a colourful craft, encouraging discovery, bonding and early STEM learning through play.

Themed Youth Dance Workshops (Ages 5-8)

Single-session themed dance workshops at the Harward Recreation Center taught by instructors from Idaho Rhythm & Dance Company. Each date has its own theme - Paw Patrol Pals, Monster Mash Mania and Musical Cat in the Hat - building coordination and confidence through creative movement and themed games.

WINGS Gymnastics

Year-round gymnastics program at Harward Recreation Center. Tumbling, gymnastics fundamentals, and age-appropriate skill development.

Youth Baseball, Softball & T-Ball League

Nampa Parks & Recreation's recreational youth baseball, softball and t-ball league. Divisions: T-ball (ages 4-5), Coed T-ball (5-6), and both Softball and Baseball in 7-8, 9-11 and 12-14 age brackets. Mildly-competitive with an emphasis on participation and fundamental skills; every player receives a T-shirt, cap, certificate of participation and a medal. Standing annual program on a spring/early-summer season.

Youth Golf - SNAG & Junior Golf (Ages 4-17)

Two-tier junior golf programme. SNAG introduces ages 4-7 to full shots, pitching, chipping and putting with beginner-friendly equipment. Junior Golf covers ages 8-17 at all abilities with instruction from a PGA professional; clubs are provided if needed.

Youth Pickleball Clinic

Youth Strength Training Certification (Ages 13-14)

Four-day course that grants 13 and 14 year olds supervised use of the Harward Recreation Center weight room, including free weights, on completion. Focuses on safe, productive training and practical experience; participants must attend every session and pass both a written and a practical exam.
