Nampa Youth Basketball (Grades K-8)
Nampa Parks & Recreation's recreational youth basketball league, where children register individually and are placed on teams coached by parent volunteers. The fall session runs divisions for Kindergarten/1st (co-ed), 2nd-3rd girls, 4th-5th girls, 6th boys and 7th-8th boys; the winter session flips the gender split. Junior Yotes is a youth basketball league run by Caldwell Parks and Recreation together with the College of Idaho. Each league season lasts seven weeks and is designed for players of all experience levels, with a focus on fundamentals and teamwork. Boys and girls play in separate leagues, and every player receives a Junior Yotes jersey. Registration is through the city's online recreation catalog.
When: Seasons by grade: grades 3-4 play October 26 to December 12, 2026; grades 5-6 play January 4 to February 20, 2027, ending with a tournament; grades 1-2 play February 22 to April 10, 2027.

Youth basketball league run by Greater Middleton Parks and Recreation District, starting at 1st grade. Fall 2026 divisions are 1st grade coed, 2nd/3rd grade boys and girls, 4th/5th grade boys and girls, 6th/7th grade boys, 6th-8th grade girls and 8th/9th grade boys; the three oldest divisions need at least three teams to run. Coaches choose their practice days, and each division plays on set weeknights.
When: Fall 2026: practices start October 5, games start October 19, and the final week of games is December 1-4. No games or practices on November 11 or November 23-27.

Youth Basketball League (Spring & Fall)
Youth basketball run by the Gem County Recreation District, played indoors at Shadow Butte Elementary, 3900 W Idaho Blvd in Emmett. Fall 2026 divisions are Little Dribblers (a camp-style parent-and-child group for preschool and kindergarten, held only if gym space allows), coed grades 1-2, boys grades 3-4, girls grades 3-4 and girls grades 5-6. Teams depend on volunteer coaches, so children are waitlisted until enough coaches sign up, and the district invites parents to coach.
When: Fall 2026 season: October 5 to November 22. Registration was open August 4 to 19.

Skyhawks HoopsterTots Kangaroos, an indoor basketball class for ages 2 to 3 and a half in which a parent takes part. It meets in the Community Hall at Eagle City Hall, with 6 to 14 children, and is followed by the Grasshoppers class for older preschoolers.

Skyhawks HoopsterTots Grasshoppers, the indoor basketball class for ages 3 and a half to 5 that follows the parent-and-child Kangaroos class on the same Mondays. Children work on dribbling, shooting, passing and teamwork using right-sized hoops and balls; parent participation is required only in the younger Kangaroos group. It meets in the Community Hall at Eagle City Hall, with 6 to 14 children.

Skyhawks Girls Basketball Skills Clinic (Ages 6-10) - Eagle
Two-hour Skyhawks clinic for girls ages 6 to 10 on shooting, ball handling and defense, held ahead of the youth basketball season. It is open to both rec and club players who want to build and practice their skills before the season starts. Coach Levi Hewitt leads it on the Ada Eagle Sports Complex basketball court.

Skyhawks October Basketball Camp (Ages 7-13) - Eagle
Two-day Skyhawks basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 13 on the October days West Ada schools are closed, at the Ada Eagle Sports Complex basketball court. Aimed at beginning to intermediate players, it teaches passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense through skill instruction and small-sided scrimmages. Campers bring a water bottle, two snacks and a lunch and wear athletic clothes. Each child receives an award certificate, a Skyhawks t-shirt and a ball.

Skyhawks Winter Break Basketball Camp (Ages 7-13) - Eagle

YMCA Boys Y-Ball & Y-Ball Elevate Basketball (Grades K–8)
Fall basketball for boys in kindergarten through 8th grade, in two leagues. Y-Ball is the recreational league, with equal playing time for every player; boys in K-4 play here. Y-Ball Elevate is a more competitive league for 5th to 8th graders ready for faster play; its teams are formed from requests, school and location, with no tryouts, and the season ends with a single-elimination tournament. K-3 teams practice once a week and 4th-7th grade teams twice.

Winter basketball for girls in kindergarten through 8th grade, in two leagues. Y-Ball, the recreational league for K through 7th grade, gives every player equal playing time; girls in K-4 play here. Y-Ball Elevate is a more competitive league for 5th to 8th graders, with no tryouts, 10 regular-season games (two a week, doubleheaders possible) and a possible end-of-season tournament. K-3 teams practice once a week, and older teams twice when gym space allows.

Summer 3-on-3 basketball league run by the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, with divisions from 10U to 18U. The Y describes it as a fast-paced way to stay active in the off-season, suited to players getting ready for school or travel teams and to kids who want to play summer basketball with friends.
