Haunted Houses Near Twin Falls 2026: How Scary Is Each One

Four haunted attractions run within an hour of Twin Falls this October, and they are not interchangeable. One tells you outright not to bring anyone under 8. Another sells tickets starting at age 3 and runs a daytime version with the scares switched off. This covers what each one is, what it costs, and how hard it actually goes, so you can pick the right one instead of finding out in the dark with a crying six-year-old.

Every date and price below came from the operator's own site or ticketing system, checked September 12, 2026. Where an attraction hasn't announced 2026, it's in the "can't confirm" section rather than listed as open.

The short version

• The Haunted Swamp opens first, on Friday, September 18, in Twin Falls. Opening night is buy one, get one free.
• September 19 is a canned food drive at the Swamp. Bring a canned good, get in for $15. The food goes to Valley House.
• Haunted Mansions of Albion runs 15 nights, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October. $25 to $40 depending on the night.
• Albion says don't bring kids under 8. That's the operator's own rule, not our guess.
• The one non-scary option is Kiddie Day at the Haunted Swamp, Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., $12.
• Three attractions on the older regional lists have not announced 2026 at all. One of them almost certainly isn't coming back.

The scary ones

Haunted Mansions of Albion

When: Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October: the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st. Thursdays 7–10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 7–11 p.m. Where: 437 E North St, Albion Cost: Thursdays $25. Fridays $30 on October 2 and 9, then $35 on the 16th, 23rd and 30th. Saturdays $35 on October 3, then $40 on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. Door tickets cost $5 extra and are limited, so buy online. Groups of 20 or more get $3 off each. Ages: 8 and up. The operator's instruction is blunt: "Don't bring kids under 8 years old."

This is the big one, and it's about 40 minutes from Twin Falls. You walk through five buildings on the old Albion State Normal School campus, each more than a century old, connected by tunnels and corridors. October 31 is Blackout Night.

Two things matter for planning. Your ticket is for a specific arrival hour rather than general admission, and the site is explicit that it's only valid for the date and time you picked. Refunds also stop 48 hours out, with no weather exception, because they run "rain, snow or shine."

If someone in your group wants to come along without going through the buildings, there's an outside-only entrance for $8. That's the workaround for a family where one kid is ready and one isn't.

Actors don't touch visitors. The site asks that you extend the same courtesy.

What the ticketing system tells you that the calendar doesn't: the hour you pick is an arrival window, not a start time. Once you're inside you can take as long as you want, and the buildings don't begin closing until midnight. So a 7 p.m. Thursday slot isn't a three-hour commitment unless you want it to be. Bring the ticket printed or on your phone — you trade it for a wristband at the booth, and the wristband is what gets you into the houses.

The Haunted Swamp

When: September 18, 19, 25 and 26, then October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31. The ticket booth opens at 7:30 p.m. and sells its last ticket at 11 p.m. Where: 646 S Park Ave W, Twin Falls Cost: Ages 3–7 $17. Ages 8–11 $19. Age 12 and up $30 at the door, $28 online. A Fast Pass to skip the line is $12 more per person. Ages: They sell tickets from age 3, which is not the same as recommending it for a three-year-old. Use Kiddie Day below if your kid is little.

A one-mile walk through water, bridges and trees with somewhere between 60 and 75 actors working it. It's outdoors and it's long, which is the part people underestimate. A mile in the dark in late October is a real walk for short legs, and there's no shortcut back once you're in.

Two openers worth catching. September 18 is opening night and it's buy one, get one free. September 19 is a canned food drive: bring a canned good and get in for $15, with everything collected going to the Valley House homeless shelter. Those are the two cheapest nights of the season and they are both this month.

Two things worth knowing that the operator doesn't spell out. The route is a mile of outdoor ground — their own description is rivers, bridges and trees — and the last ticket sells at 11 p.m., so on a busy night you could be walking it close to midnight in late October. Nothing on their site addresses footwear or how wet the ground gets underfoot, so plan for uneven ground in the dark and dress for cold. And they sell a $12 Fast Pass to skip the line, which is a fair signal that the line is real on the busy nights.

Burley Straw Maze haunted nights

When: "Saturdays only in October," per the operator. They have not posted 2026 dates or times. Where: 845 E 500 S, Burley Cost: Not published for the haunted nights. Ages: No guidance given.

The Burley Straw Maze runs a haunted version of the maze on October Saturdays after dark. Their own site still shows last year's season dates, so treat everything except "Saturdays in October" as unconfirmed until they update it.

One detail that saves a wasted trip: the pumpkin patch closes at dark and does not run during haunted maze hours. If you're bringing small kids for pumpkins, go in daylight and leave before the maze turns.

The one that isn't scary at all

Kiddie Day at the Haunted Swamp

When: Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Where: 646 S Park Ave W, Twin Falls Cost: $12 each Ages: Built for younger kids. Nothing here is designed to frighten anyone.

Same swamp, daylight, scares off. Kids trick-or-treat through the trail, play games and use the bounce pad. It's a separate ticket from the night-time haunt and less than half the price.

This is the answer if your kid wants to say they went to the haunted swamp and would not survive the haunted swamp. It's also the only daytime, no-scare option on this page, and it's a single Saturday afternoon with no second date to fall back on.

Three we can't confirm for 2026

These show up on regional Halloween lists every year. None of them has announced a 2026 season anywhere we could find. Don't build an evening around them without calling first.

Magic Valley Corn Maze & Haunted Forest, Hansen

4334 E 3700 N, Hansen. The haunted forest runs Saturday nights after dark in a normal year.

Two problems. Their web address no longer belongs to them. Typing magicvalleycornmaze.com now loads an overseas online gambling site, which is worth knowing before you hand your phone to a kid to look it up. And the most recent post visible on their Facebook page is from November 1, 2025, saying it was the last night of the haunted forest.

That isn't proof they're closed. It is a reason to call (208) 420-9001 before driving to Hansen.

Twin Falls Corn Maze

Grandview Dr N and Poleline Rd, Twin Falls. This one we'd treat as gone.

Their website is still up and still lists a haunted maze and a zombie paintball course, which is why it keeps getting copied onto Halloween roundups. The haunted dates on it are October 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31, and those fall on Fridays and Saturdays in 2018, not 2026. The banner on the page says "Opens September 30th 2016." It was last modified in September 2019.

What happened is on the record. In September 2019 the operators cancelled the season, citing circumstances outside their control, and said they hoped to reconvene at a new location. We found no evidence of a season since. If you see it listed somewhere as open this year, that listing is being copied from the frozen website.

Wilson Wizarding Experience, Rupert

610 Fremont St, Rupert. Not a haunt. The Historic Wilson Theatre turns itself into a wizarding school for a weekend each October, with wand shopping, potions and train rides. It's the gentlest thing on this page and the one a seven-year-old will talk about for a month.

The theatre confirms it happens every October but has not published 2026 dates or prices. It has sold out in past years. Call (208) 436-2787 or watch their page if you want it.

Working out whether your kid is ready

Age minimums from haunt operators are about liability and crowd management as much as they're about fear. Albion's "under 8" line is a useful floor, not a green light at 8.

Things that predict a bad night better than age:

• Does your kid like being startled, or only like having been startled? Those are different kids. The second one has a miserable 45 minutes and a great story afterwards, and only you know which trade they'd take.
• Can they leave? Albion is five connected buildings with stairs and tunnels. The Swamp is a mile-long loop. Neither has an easy exit halfway. If "we can go if you hate it" is load-bearing in your pitch, pick something shorter.
• How late is it? Everything scary here starts at 7 or 7:30 p.m. and runs past a lot of bedtimes. Tired makes scared worse.
• Have they picked it, or have you? A kid talked into a haunted house is a different proposition from one who has been asking since August.

The outside-only ticket at Albion and Kiddie Day at the Swamp both exist for the in-between kid. Using one isn't a failure.

Before you go

• Buy Albion tickets online. Door tickets are limited and cost $5 more, and your ticket is tied to a specific arrival hour.
• Dress for standing outside at night in October. The Swamp is an outdoor mile. Albion involves outdoor entertainment and queueing between buildings.
• Closed shoes you don't mind ruining, especially at the Swamp. It's a swamp.
• Albion has lots of stairs and tunnels, which their site flags directly. If anyone in your group has mobility limits, the $8 outside ticket is the realistic option.
• Check the refund rule before you buy. Albion refunds up to 48 hours out and does not refund for weather.
• Cash isn't a safe assumption at the smaller operations, and neither is phone signal out toward Hansen or Albion. Screenshot your ticket before you leave town.
• Plan the drive. Albion is about 40 minutes from Twin Falls, on unlit roads, ending near midnight.
